  • How can check on the latest arriving/departing flight information?
Visit the Flight Information section of the website.

Flights: Arrivals

  • Where can I check on the status of an arriving flight?
Go to the Flight Information section of the website.

  • Can I pick up an arriving passenger at the curbside?
Waiting passengers can be picked up at curbside, located outside the baggage claim area. Passengers must be waiting outside for pickup; drivers cannot park or leave the vehicle unattended at any time.

  • Can I go out to the gate to meet an arriving passenger? What if they are a minor or disabled person needing assistance?
The airsides are closed to Ticketed Passengers Only. If you are meeting a disabled person needing assistance or a minor traveling alone, you may go to the airline ticket counter and request a "gate pass." Gate passes allow for one adult to meet an incoming passenger, require photo ID to obtain and are issued at the discretion of the airline.

  • If I am meeting someone arriving on a flight, where can I wait to meet them?
There is a Cell Phone Waiting Lot just south of the airport post office. Follow the over head signs as you drive onto the airport. The Cell Phone Waiting Lot also features current flight information allowing you to monitor the arrival of the incoming flight. When your passengers have retrieved their luggage and are waiting on the curbside, you may drive to the Red or Blue Arrival area and allow them to load and depart. If you arrive at the curbside and your passengers are not ready to load, you will be asked to move along and return when your passengers are ready to load and depart.

For more information, please visit our Curbside Management Program page.

  • If I want to meet arriving passengers as they arrive from the airside, where do I go?
If you want to meet arriving passengers in the building, or just want to avoid the congestion of the curbside pick-up, park in the Short Term Parking Garage. The first hour is free. Take the elevators down to Level 3 and follow the signs to the airside where your party's airline arrives. You will see them when they exit the shuttle from the airside. After retrieving luggage on Level 1, take the elevators back up to your parked vehicle and depart.

Curbside Management

What to Know When Picking People Up at the Tampa International Airport

Tampa International Airport uses a curbside management program to reduce congestion and gridlock on the arrival drives.

During peak periods, you will not be permitted to park or wait at the curbside. You may stop when your passenger(s) with their luggage are on the curb and ready to load.

Normal times for peak passenger traffic are (SUBJECT TO CHANGE – WATCH FOR SIGNAGE):

  • 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM (noon)
  • 4:30 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight)
To reduce confusion and congestion, we offer our patrons two options when picking up passengers:
  1. Proceed to the Cell Phone Waiting Lot located behind the Post Office. When arriving at the airport, follow the signs to the Cell Phone Waiting Lot. Waiting is FREE and flight information is provided.
  2. Proceed to the Short or Long Term parking garages where parking rate is free under one hour!
We do not recommend circling. It only adds to the congestion.
